Ingredients:  
1 1/4 c. all-purpose flour
1 Tlb. sugar
1 c. buttermilk
1/2 tsp. soda
1 1/2 tsp. baking powder
3 T. shortening
1/2 tsp. salt

Directions:
Directions:
Heat waffle iron. Stir dry ingredients into mixing bowl. Cut in shortening until mixture is very fine. Add eggs and milk. Beat just until batter smooth. Do not over beat. Grease iron if necessary. Pour batter into waffle iron and bake according to direction of the waffle iron.
