20 garlic cloves chopped fine, mashed and sliced
2 bunches scallions
1 head parsley
Very good olive oil

Directions:
Directions:
Heat olive oil in pan
Slowly cook garlic in olive oil and add parsley
Add clams (no juice or anything else) and toss to coat in olive oil and garlic mixture, sprinkle with salt and pepper
Add scallions and steam clams
They should be slick with oil and very garlicky

You could add chili peppers for heat or a dash of white wine but they were very good with nothing added to the recipe. Serve with lemon slices, good bread and drawn butter.

Personal Notes:
Personal Notes:
I remember making these many times for large enthusiastic family or friend gatherings. We have had memorable meals with Tom's aunt Kathleen and Uncle George and family, my cousin Charlie and family and Pete Decal's family at Cuttyhunk, who felt like my family after our exchange of Italian tales and food!
