Personal Notes:
Somehow one of my dearest, funniest and most loved friends managed to get through two bouts of cancer and chemotherapy with her sense of humor intact. I stayed with her during both bouts. This recipe emerged during her first diagnosis when I was with her during her second and third rounds of chemo. By then, she mostly lived on smoothies and some soups. I wonder if her love of smoothies may be somewhat diminished but her sense of humor has not. I loved this one.
