7-8 Onions (med-large) or as many as you want

1-2 sticks butter or margarine

10-12 cups beef broth (I make my own with McKay's beef seasoning or bouillon)
(I add about 2 tsp. per cup to make it taste beefy)

1 cup Flour

1 cup Sugar

2 tsp. dry mustard

Extra sugar and beef seasoning to achieve desired taste.

Start with beef broth or prepare beef broth using two tsp. beef bouillon or seasoning per cup of water.
Allow to heat thoroughly.

Sauté onions in butter/margarine. Start with one stick and add additional as needed. Sauté over medium heat until soft (about 15-20 mins.

Mix Flour, Sugar and Dry Mustard together and set aside.

Add Flour mixture to sautéed onions a little at a time, until onions are thick and coated
Save additional mixture (if any is left over) for another time

Add coated onions to broth stir and simmer.

Add additional sugar and beef bouillon/seasoning to achieve desired taste.
