5 or more Johathon apples, peeled and sliced
2 cup)s sugar
3 cups unsifted flour
4 eggs
3 tsp baking powder
1 tsp salt
2 tsp vanilla
1 cup cooking oil
1/2 cup orange juice (reserve 1 or 2 tsp for icing)
1/2 cup sugar, 1 or 2 tsp cinnamon, mix together in a cup.

1 1/2 cups powdered sugar
2 tablespoons butter, softened
1 1/2 teaspoons vanilla
1/2 teaspoon cinnamon
1 to 2 tablespoons orange juice or water.

Mix together the dry ingredients. Add the oil, juice, vanilla and eggs at low speed in mixer for about 10 minutes.
Take round pan or angel food pan - grease & floured.
Pour 1/2 batter in pan. Lay 1/2 the sliced apples on batter. Sprinkle with 1/2 of sugar & cinnamon mixture. Pour remaining batter on the top of apples. Top with remaining apples and cinnamon mixture. Bake at 350 for 1 hour.

Combine Glaze ingredients and pour over cake.
