baking soda

3/4 cup butter or shortening
1/2 cup sugar
1 egg
1 cup brown sugar
1/4 cup water
1 teaspoon vanilla
1 cup flour
1/2 teaspoon baking soda .
3 cups oatmeal
cream together butter and sugars together add egg and vanilla baking soda mix add flour oatmeal
add water mix all well

bake at 350 degrees on greased cookie sheet for 10 to 12 minutes or until done
