1 (No. 300) can cream-style corn
3/4 c. milk
1/3 c. melted shortening
1 1/2 c. corn meal
2 eggs, slightly beaten
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar (optional)
1 (4 oz.) can green chilies, chopped
1 1/2 c. grated cheese

Directions:
Directions:
Mix all ingredients except chilies and cheese. Pour batter into a greased 9x9 inch pan. Sprinkle on 1/2 cheese and chilies, bake in a 350 degree oven for 30-35 minutes. Remove, add remaining cheese to top.
