2/3 C. Shortening
3/4 C. Sugar
1 Egg
1/2 C. Orange Juice
2 T. Grated Orange Rind
2 C. Flour
1/2 t. Baking Powder
1/2 t. Baking Soda
1/2 t. Salt

Orange Icing:
2 1/2 T. softened butter
1 1/2 C. confectioners sugar
1 1/2 T. cream or vanilla
1 1/2 T. orange juice
2 t. grated orange rind

Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening & sugar, add egg & mix, add orange juice & grated rind, mix.
Add flour, baking powder, baking soda & salt, mix well.

Drop by mounds onto cookie sheet using a teaspoon.

Bake for 10-12 minutes or until lightly browned at 325.

Cool cookies

Icing:
Combine all ingredients & mix well.
Ice cool cookies.
