French Toast Casserole Recipe

5 cups bread, cubed
4 eggs
1 1/2 cups milk
1/4 cup sugar, divided
1/4 tsp salt
1 tsp vanilla
1 tbsp butter softened
1 tsp cinnamon

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Lightly butter 2 qt casserole dish.

Put bread cubes into casserole dish.

In large bowl, beat eggs, milk, 2 tbsp sugar, salt and vanilla. Pour over bread cubes.

Dot with butter and let stand for 10 minutes.

Combine remaining sugar with 1 tsp cinnamon and sprinkle over top.

Bake for 45 minutes.

Serve warm with maple syrup or powdered sugar
