Ingredients:  
1 C flour
1 egg
1 tsp soda
1 C canned cherries (in heavy syrup)
1/2 C chopped nuts
1 C sugar
1 T butter

Directions:
Directions:
Sift dry ingredients into a bowl, add 1 beaten egg and butter. Drain cherries - add 1 C cherries to the mixture. Grease a small pan. Add nuts and bake 350º oven - 30 minutes. Pour juice in sauce pan - add 1/2 C sugar and heaping T corn starch. Stir well and cook until thickens. Add remaining drained cherries to thickened juice. Serve cake with cherry mixture and top with whipped cream.
