2c milk
2c water
1/4c white sugar
4t salt
2T shortening
2 packages dry yeast
1/4c warm water

Directions:
Directions:
Soften yeast in 1/4c warm water, scald milk and let cool. Add melted shortening, sugar, and salt. Add yeast. Add enough flour to make a spongy mix. Beat well, add more flour to make a nice elastic feeling dough. About twelve cups in all.

Knead about 10 minutes, turning dough over and over. Set aside and let raise twice. Make into loaves and bake in 375ºF oven 45 min to 1 hour, this recipe can be used to make sweet rolls, etc.
