2 cups milk
2 sticks butter
3 eggs, beaten
1/2 cup sugar
2 pkgs. yeast
1 Tbsp. salt
6 cups flour, plus more as needed
1 tsp. vanilla

For topping:
1/4 cup sugar
1/4 cup flour
1/4 stick of butter

Directions:
Directions:
1. Soak yeast in 1/4 cup warm water and 1 Tbsp. sugar
2. Mix all ingredients like any other bread dough, adding extra flour to compensate for weather conditions. Dough should be soft, yet able to form a ball.
3. Grease lightly and cover with waxed paper. Refrigerate overnight.
4. Form walnut-sized balls and let rise until double in size. Make indentations and fill with your choice of filling.
5. Make topping and top the kolache with the mixture.
6. Let rise until double in size.
7. Bake at 400 for 12-15 minutes or until golden.
