Ingredients: 400 grams Blanched Almonds ground fine 400 grams Icing Sugar 1 tbsp Glucose (found at specialty baking stores) 1 + Egg White(s)
Icing for One Kransekake
2 cups Icing Sugar 1/4 tsp Cream of Tartar 1 Egg White

Directions:Preheat Oven 325º Mix ingredients by hand until a ball is formed Grease rings; dust with flour Roll out ropes and place them in rings (I have found it's helpful to bake one ring in the oven testing to see if the circumference of the rope of dough is the right size because the dough tends to expand and could overflow the edges of the rings) Bake for about 13 minutes Cool before trying to release the kransekake rings
Icing Mix all ingredients and place into a pastry bag. Use a #5 Wilton tip to pipe the icing in a zigzag pattern on each ring and stack as you go making sure the rings do not start leaning. |

Notes: Put Norwegian flags on the top of the cake and use melted caramelized sugar to attach wrapped chocolates to the side of the kransekake. You can also add small christmas crackers to the sides of the kransekake as well.
