1 lb. pinto beans
6 c. water
1 tsp. salt
1/2 lb. thick sliced bacon
1 tsp. salt
1/2 c. ketchup
1 tblsp. brown sugar
2 tblsps. Worcestershire Sauce
1 tsp. chili powder
Dash hot pepper sauce
1 lemon thinly sliced
1 onion thinly sliced

Directions:
Wash beans; place in large kettle. Add water, 1 tsp. salt, and bacon. Simmer, covered 1 1/2 hrs. Heat oven to 350º. Drain beans, reserving liquid. Turn beans into 2 quart casserole. Combine 1 tsp. salt, Ketchup, brown sugar, Worcestershire Sauce, chili powder, hot pepper sauce, and 1 cup reserved bean liquid (more if desired). Pour over beans. Bake covered for 30 minutes. Arrange sliced lemon and onion slices over top. Bake 30 minutes longer or until beans are tender.
