¾ cup Butter or Margarine, Soft
¾ cup white sugar
¾ cup packed brown sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla
2 eggs
1 ¾ cup all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoon baking sode
1 teaspoon cinnamon
½ teaspoon nutmeg
¼ teaspoon all spice
1/8 teaspoon cloves
½ teaspoon salt
2 cups old-fashioned or quick-cooking oats
3 medium apples, peeled, cored and chopped into small pieces
1 cup powdered sugar
2 to 3 table spoons milk

1. Heat oven to 375F.

2. In large bowl, beat butter, white sugar and brown sugar until creamy.

3. Beat in vanilla and eggs, scraping sides occasionally, until blended.

4. In medium bowl, mix flour, baking soda, cinnamon, nutmeg, all spice, cloves and salt.

5. Gradually beat flour mixture into sugar mixture.

6. Stir in oats and apples.

7. Drop rounded tablespoonful of dough onto cookie sheet about two inches apart.

8. Bake about 10 minutes or until edges are light golden brown.

9. Cool 1 minute then remove from cookie sheet to cooling rack.

10. Cool completely.

11. In medium bowl, beat powdered sugar and milk until smooth. Drizzle over cooled cookies.

12. Let stand about 1 hour or until glaze is set.
