Personal Notes:
This is the easy way to get the good taste of one of my favorite Ukranian dishes. My paternal grandparents came from Austria but were Ukranian. I grew up with, Holubtsi (Howl-lip-che, is how you pronounce it)which I love. We pre-boiled cabbage leaves to soften them, filled them with the meat and rice mixture, and rolled them up. We covered them with tomatoes we canned and cooked them until soft. When eating, we split them open & added butter. Good, simple food that tastes so good.
