1 cup all purpose flour
1/4 cup packed brown sugar
1/2 cup chopped walnuts
1/2 cup butter or margarine, melted
2 egg whites
3/4 cup granulated sugar
1 (10 oz) package frozen strawberries OR 2 cups fresh strawberries, sliced
2 tablespoons lemon juice
1 cup whipping cream, whipped OR 1 (14 1/2 oz) carton whipped desert topping, thawed

In a bowl stir together flour, brown sugar, walnuts and butter; spread evenly in 13x9x2 inch baking pan. Bake in 350ºF oven for 20 minutes, stirring occasionally. Remove from oven; cool. Crumble 2/3 of the baked mixture in bottom of same pan; reserve remaining mixture. In large mixer bowl, combine egg whites, sugar, berries and lemon juice; beat at low speed until mixture begins to thicken, about 2 minutes, then beat on high speed until stiff peaks form (tips stand straight up), about 10-12 minutes. Fold in topping, spoon over mixture in pan; top with reserved crumbs. Freeze 6 hours or overnight. Cut into squares.

Trim with fresh berries, if desired.
