1 c. tomato juice
1/2 c. olive oil
1/2 c. vinegar (use your favorite)
1/2 c. sugar (sometimes I use less sugar)
1 clove minced garlic
herbs of your choice and to taste such as basil, cilantro, oregano, parsley, black pepper

Double this recipe because it lasts in the refrigerator for months. Fresh summer herbs make it really special. It is also great to use when making a pasta salad. Marilee Sholtis developed this recipe and gave it to her daughter Julie in the 1980's. Julie gave it to her daughter Tara in 2016.
