7 cups of thin sliced cucumbers
1 cup, thin sliced onions
1/4 cup salt
1 cup white vinegar
2 cups sugar
1 tsp. celery seed
1 tsp. mustard seed
1 tsp. turmeric (optional: if used, pickles are yellow, bread & butter pickles.)

Directions:

1. Mix cucumbers, onion and salt and place in large bowl.
2. Cover with ice cubes, and let stand at least 1 hour, or up to 4 hrs.
3.. Rinse thoroughly and drain. Set aside.
4. Combine vinegar, sugar, celery, and mustard seed, (add Tumeric, if desired), in saucepan.
5. Bring to a boil and pour over cucumbers and onions. Let stand overnight. Make sure pickles
are covered in liquid.
6. Place in containers with liquid (quart, pint, or gallon jars) and store in refrigerator OR freeze.
