2 slices bacon
1/2 cup chopped onion
1 cup sliced carrots
1 cup cubed, peeled potato
1/4 cup fresh parsley, chopped
1/2 tsp. marjoram leaves
1/4 tsp. pepper
2 cups water
8 oz. thinly sliced smoked bratwurst, Polish sausage or wieners (about 1 and 1/2 cups)
16-oz. can cut green beans, undrained
16-oz can of Great Northern beans or white beans, undrained.

1. In large saucepan or soup pan, cook bacon until crisp; drain, reserving 1 Tablespoon drippings.
Crumble bacon, and set aside.
2, Saute onion in reserved drippings until tender.
3. Add carrots, potato, parsley, marjoram, pepper and water; bring to a boil.
4. Reduce heat; cover and simmer about 20 minutes or until vegetables are tender.
5. Add sausage( or bratwurst/weiner), beans and reserved bacon.
6. Stir together and heat thoroughly.
