butter or margarine
flour
milk
salt & pepper

Directions:
Directions:
Melt 1/2 stick of margarine in a skillet.
Mix 4 tbsp. flour and 1 cup milk in a shaker. Shake until well mixed.
Add to melted margarine. This mixture is called Roux.
Stirring constantly, gradually add more milk until desired amount of gravy is made and desired thickness is obtained.
If necessary, more flour can be added by mixing it in shaker with milk and shaking together before adding to gravy mix.
Add salt and pepper to taste.

Chipped beef can be cut up and added to gravy and served over bread, toast or biscuits.
