1 1/3 c flour
1 tbsp. sugar
3/4 c butter
Filling:
2 eggs
1 c brown sugar
1 tsp vanilla extract
1 c shredded coconut
2/3 c chopped walnuts
1/4 c glazed cherries
3 tbsp. flour
1 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
Butter Icing:
1/4 c butter solftened
2 1/2 c icing sugar
3 tbsp. table cream

Base:
Combine in a medium bowl the flour, sugar and butter. Cut the butter into the sugar and flour until the mixture is a crumbly texture. Press this into a lightly greased 10" square baking dish. Preheat oven to 350ºF and bake for 20 min.
Filling:
Beat eggs gradually adding the sugar and vanilla. Sift together the flour, baking powder and add to the egg and sugar mixture. Stir well. Now add the remaining ingredients and mix till well blended. Spread this mixture over the base. Return the pan to the oven which is now lowered to 300ºF and bake for 25 to 30 min (until top of filling looks set).
Butter Icing:
Cream together the butter and icing sugar adding cream 1 tbsp. at a time. Beat with a blender at low speed till all ingredients reach a creamy consistency. Spread over cooled cake.
