3 cup flour
2 tsp salt
1 cup shortening
9 tbsp ice water
six apples peeled cored and quartered

Directions:
Directions:
Mix flour and salt together add in shortening, mix until crumbly. Sprinkle in ice water and mix until ball is formed. Divide into 3 pieces and roll out 1 piece about 1/8 inch thick. Cut into 4 pieces. Lay 2 apple quarters in center of each piece and fold each corner over apples to form dumplings. place into greased baking pan and repeat with other sections. should have 9-12 dumplings. Bake at 400º for 40-45 minutes until golden brown.

This is Mom's other signature dessert. I cannot tell you how excited we would get to come home from school and see these cooling on the kitchen table.. We would eat them with milk and sugar.Just crust and apples never tasted so good. My brother requested this recipe.
