3 lbs. lean ground beef
2 15 oz. cans Mexican tomatoes
2 15 oz. cans tomato sauce
1 can Rotel
1 jar chunky medium Pace Picante sauce
6 tbsp. chili powder
6 tbsp. ground cumin
2 large onions chopped
1 tsp. turmeric (or Dry Mustard)
1 lb. pkg pinto beans
2 15 oz cans chicken broth
1 can water

Directions:
Directions:
Soak and cook pinto beans according to pkg instructions. (But using chicken broth instead of water to cook beans in.) When beans are done do not drain.

In a large pot, brown hamburger and onions. Drain. Return meat to pot, add all additional ingredients and slow simmer for 1 hour. Now add beans with juice.

(Well, my kid’s will kill me for having this in my sacred book, because I raised them on the fact that Chili stands on its own. Even if you’re in Texas and you go to a Chili Cook-off, you are disqualified if you put beans in your chili. That’s a northern thing. But for a change, this recipe that I got from Mr. Weldon is really good, if you just have to have them.)
