1/2 c. milk
2 c. sugar
1/3 c. shortening
1 1/2 c. oatmeal
5 tbsp. cocoa
1 c. coconut
1 c. corn flakes
pinch of salt

Directions:
Directions:
Place milk, sugar and shortening in a saucepan and place over medium heat. Stir until mixed and then bring to a full rolling boil with our stirring.

Meanwhile, mix remaining ingredients in a large bowl. Add boiled sugar mixture and stir quickly.

Quickly spoon onto wax paper and leave on the counter until set.

This was a big favourite of ours when we were younger. I remember once when my parents were away we thought that we would make it and not even bother making the cookies, just eat all the chocolate goodness with a spoon.

We didn't make it. We were left with half a bowl of crumbly chocolate mess and very ill tummies. Seriously, make the cookies before you start eating the mixture.
