Ingredients:  
⅓ c good balsamic vinegar
2 tsp sugar
½ tsp lemon juice
3 pints strawberries, hulled & halved
¼ c packed light brown sugar
pepper to taste
Vanilla ice cream or cool whip (optional)

Directions:
Directions:
Bring vinegar, granulated sugar, & lemon juice to a simmer over medium heat. Simmer until reduced to about 1/2. (~3 minutes). Transfer to a small bowl and let cool completely. Add some pepper.

Toss berries with brown sugar & let stand for 10-15 minutes.
Pour vinegar over berries & serve.

Serve with cool whip or vanilla ice cream if desired.
