3 cups sugar
1/2 cup white Karo syrup
1/2 cup water
2 egg whites
1 tsp. vanilla
Optional: 2/3 cup chopped nuts
Directions:
Directions:
Cook sugar, syrup and water bringing it to a boil. Then reduce heat to bubbling. Stir continually until threads fly when mixture is drizzled from a spoon. Slowly pour mixture over stiffly beaten egg whites beating constantly. Add vanilla. Continue beating until mixture holds its shape when dropped from a spoon. If you like nuts you can fold them in now. Drop candy from spoons onto waxed paper.
