1 whole fryer chicken
1 teas. 5 spice powder
1/4 cup boiling water
1 Tbl. honey
1 Tbl vinegar
1 Tbl.sherry
juice of 1 lemon
2Tbl. olive oil

Directions:
Directions:
Dry chicken thoroughly. Rub salt and 5 spice powder in cavity. Pour 2 Tbl.oil in Dutch oven and heat until hor. Cook chicken over med. heat about 10 min., turning frequently,until brown.
Combine boiling water,honey,vinegar and wine. Coat chicken and bake at 350º for 45 min.and serve with squeezed lemon juice.

In my Bridal Shower recipe book mom lists it as being from Maureen Dumm. Who knew my mom had 5 spice powder back in 1984?At any rate it was always a family favorite and she must have liked it.
