1 head iceberg lettuce broken into bite sized pieces
1/2 cup celery chopped
1/2 cup green pepper chopped
1/2 purple onion chopped
10 oz frozen English peas cooked
2 cups Miracle Whip salad dressing mixed with 2 Tbsp sugar
6 oz shredded cheddar cheese
8 strips of cooked bacon crumbled

Layer first 5 vegetables in a tall clear glass bowl. Use one you can see through and also mix contents. A Truffle dish works well. Spread salad dressing mixture on top of vegetables. Sprinkle cheese on top and then sprinkle bacon on top of that. Cover with plastic wrap and refrigerate for 8 hrs.

I think this recipe came from Aunt Bess originally. It makes a very beautiful and impressive dish to take to a pot luck or to put out on a buffet. I usually toss it slightly so the diners can get some of all the wonderful ingredients. It is also huge and serves 18 folks.
