2 c. sugar
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 c sour milk (can add 1 tsp vinegar to fresh milk to make sour)
1 tsp baking soda
4 T molasses

Directions:
Directions:
Mix together flour, sugar and shortening until crumbly. Take out 1 scant cup and set aside.

To the rest add 1 c. sour milk, 1 tsp baking soda and 4 T molasses. Pour batter into a 9"x9" baking pan that's been greased and dusted with flour. scatter the cup of crumbs over the top of the batter.Bake at 350º
