1 1/2 cups butter, softened
2 1/4 cups powdered sugar
1 egg
1 T. vanilla extract
3 3/4 cups flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder

Chocolate: Substitute 1/4 cup cocoa for 1/4 cup flour.

Directions:
Beat butter, sugar, egg, and vanilla until creamy. Add flour and baking powder. Beat on low until blended. Divide dough into fifths and chill. Divide each fifth into 12 pieces. Shape each piece in palms of hands to shape into a small oval, tapering one end into a point. Place cookies 1 inch apart on lightly greased baking sheet. Chill in freezer 15 minutes then bake about 10 minutes at 375º until set. Frost when cool. Spread frosting on each cookie and roll in coconut or chocolate sprinkles. With a dab of frosting, attach Necco wafer ears, pink candy nose, brown candy eyes and a licorice tail.
