•5 to 6 cups all-purpose flour
•3 teaspoons baking powder
•1¼ teaspoon salt
•1 pound lard, at room temperature
•1¼ cup granulated sugar
•2 large eggs
•1 teaspoon vanilla
3 table spoons ground anise seeds
•½ cup Mogan David Wine or Brandy


Topping
•¼ cup granulated sugar
•¾ teaspoon ground cinnamon

Mix dry ingredients - 5 cups flour, baking powder, and salt.

Beat lard in electric mixer, gradually adding sugar until extremely light
and fluffy. Add eggs. M ix in dry ingredients, Add anise seeds, wine/brandy. A stiff, pie-crust–like dough is what you’re after. Add some or all of remaining flour, as needed, to get
proper consistency.

Roll the dough out about ¼ inch thick on floured work surface and cut into favorite shapes. Roll each cooking in the sugar cinnamon topping then arranged on cookie sheets.

Bake cookies 12 to 15 minutes. (it is ok to cook a little longer, burnt bisochitos are always a favorite
