1/3 cup brown sugar (do not pack)
1 tea cinnamon
2/3 cup white sugar
1/2 cup butter
1 + 1/2 cup flour
1 + baking powder
1 tsp salt
1/2 cup milk
1 large apple peeled, cored and loosely chopped (I like Granny Smith)
1/2 cup walnuts loosely chopped

Preheat oven to 350. Grease and flour a 9x5 loaf pan. Mix flour, baking powder, and salt together, set aside. Mix brown sugar and cinnamon together, set aside. Mix with a blender sugar and butter till smooth and creamy, add 1 egg at a time incorporating each egg into mixture before adding next egg. Add vanilla to butter, egg mixture. Slowly add flour mixture until blended, add milk, mix till smooth. Add 1/2 mixture to loaf pan, top with 1/2 chopped apple, 1/2 brown sugar mixture, and 1/2 of the nuts. repeat using the rest. Bake 30-40 mins till toothpick inserted in center comes out clean. Remove from ovn, cool 10 mins before removing from pan.

You can lightly swirl apple mixture into batter. Makes great gifts for anyone. Freezes well. I have had trouble doubling recipe, just did not come out as good. Make 1 loaf at at time.
