1 cup shortening
1 cup brown sugar, packed
1/2 cup granulated sugar
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
2 1/4 cups flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 1/2 cups plain M & M's (3/4 lb. pkg.)
Directions:
Directions:
Cream shortening, sugars, eggs, and vanilla. Mix together flour, soda and salt. Gradually add dry ingredients to creamed mixture; mix well. Stir in 1/2 cup M & Ms; reserve remaining for decorating. Drop by teaspoon on ungreased baking sheet. Decorate tops with remaining M & Ms (usually put 2 on each). Bake at 375º F. for 10-12 minutes or until golden brown. Makes about 6 dozen 2 1/2 in. cookies
