6 medium green peppers
1 1/2 lb. ground beef, extra lean
1/3 c. chopped onion
1 T. fat
2 c. stewed tomatoes, or 1 1-lb. can
3/4 c. rice
2 T. Worcestershire sauce
salt and pepper
1 c. sharp cheddar cheese, shredded

Directions:
Directions:
Cut off tops of green peppers; remove seeds and membrane. Precook green pepper cups in boiling salted water about 5 minutes; drain. Sprinkle inside with salt.
Brown meat and onion in hot fat; add tomatoes, rice, Worcestershire sauce, and salt and pepper to taste. Cover and simmer until rice is almost tender, about 5 minutes. Add cheese. Stuff peppers; stand upright in 10x6x1 1/2" baking dish. Bake uncovered in moderate oven (350º) 25 minutes, or until hot. Sprinkle with more cheese.
