1 3/4 sticks butter
1 1/2 cup sugar
2 eggs
1 cup buttermilk
2 1/4 cup flour, sifted
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp salt
1/2 tsp soda
1 1/2 tsp vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
All ingredients need to be at room temperature. Cream butter with sugar. Add eggs, beating until fluffy. Add the remaining ingredients and mix well. Bake at 350º for 25 minutes in 2 cake pans or 24 cupcake pans that have been greased and floured. This cake is excellent warm with strawberries and cream or chocolate or coconut icing.
