purchased or homemade pizza dough
2 lb. ground lamb or beef (approx. 85% lean)

1/2 c. toasted pine nuts, if desired

several grinds of pepper

Directions:
Mix the filling ingredients. On a floured board, roll out a golf ball sized ball of dough into a flat circle (think mini-pizza). Put 1-2 T of filling into center of circle and bring the edges of the dough up to form a triangle shape, pinching edges together. Leave a small opening in the center of the triangle to allow juices to escape. Bake on a sheet pan at 350 F until browned. Cool on wire rack. Can be refrigerated and reheated on a sheet pan covered with foil. Serve with yoghurt (or ketchup- my Grandma would cringe!). These freeze well.

This was my Grandma Nabhan Wilds's recipe. This is the most requested dish in our home when the kids are visiting!
