1/2 chicken (cut up)(Cover chicken with water to cook)
2 celery stalks-diced
1/2 chopped onion
1/4 cup butter or margarine
2 TBSP flour
1 tsp salt
1/4 tsp pepper
1 1/2 cup thin egg noodles
1/2 cup half & half

Directions:
Directions:
In large kettle cook chicken . Bring to a boil , reduce heat and simmer 40 minutes or until chicken is tender. Remove chicken but save the broth. Shred or dice chicken discarding the bones and skin. Sauté celery and onion in butter and add flour. Add reserved broth , salt and pepper. Bring to a boil , add noodles. cook until tender. Stir occasionally, add chicken and half & half.

This freezes well. It can also be made without adding the half& half. When i make it i also add a little more water and a chicken bouillon cube as well and a little more noodles.
