2 c warm water
2 pkg active dry yeast
1/2 c sugar
2 t salt
6 1/2-7 cups sifted flour
1 egg
1/4 c soft shortening(I use lard)

Directions:
Directions:
Dissolve yeast in water. Add sugar & salt and half flour. Mix and let sit for a few minutes. Beat egg till thick. Add egg and shortening to dough gradually. Add the flour, kneading just until dough doesn't stick to fingers or cupboard. Let rise till double (1 1/2 hrs) Punch down. Let rise another half hour. Make into favorite dinner rolls.
Bake.
