Ingredients:
for 1.5 lb loaf:
330 ml warm water
about 1 tsp lemon juice
about 1 tsp honey
500 grams flour of which 1 cup
is whole wheat
1-1/2 tsp salt
about a spoonful ground flax
1-1/2 tsp active dry yeast
For a 2 lb loaf the ingredients are:
Put in glass measure 1 tbsp. lemon juice,
1 tsp sugar or honey
warm water to 400 ml mark
590 grams flour of which 1-1/2 cups is whole wheat
about a spoonful of ground flax
2 tsp salt
1-3/4 tsp active dry yeast

Directions:
Directions:
Put the warm water, lemon juice and honey or sugar in the bread pan with the paddle attached. Add flour, salt and active dry yeast. Set the bread maker for the Crusty cycle (which is used for European, Artisan or Peasant breads with little or no fat) for the 1.5 lb loaf or 2 lb loaf, whichever you are making. I made it with the basic cycle too and it was even crustier actually.
