1 large can artichoke hearts, sliced
12 ounces of linguine
6 tablespoons olive oil, divided
9 tablespoons butter, divided
1 tablespoon flour
1 cup chicken broth
1 clove garlic
salt and pepper to taste
2 teaspoons lemon juice
1 teaspoon parsley
4 ounces canned mushrooms, sliced
3 tablespoons Parmesan cheese divided
1/2 cup ham cubes or 4 slices crumbled bacon

In a heavy saucepan, heat 4 tablespoons olive oil over medium low heat. Add 8 tablespoons butter and melt. Add flour. Cook, stirring continuously, for 3 minutes. Stir in chicken broth. Increase heat and cook 1 minute. Add the mashed garlic, salt, pepper, lemon juice, parsley and cook 5 minutes. Add the artichoke hearts, mushroom slices and 2 tablespoons Parmesan cheese. Simmer this mixture while boiling the linguine according to package directions for 10 minutes. Drain linguine and toss with remaining olive oil, butter and Parmesan cheese.Pour sauce over linguine and sprinkle with ham or bacon.
