2c flour
1/3c sugar
1t baking powder
1/4t baking soda
1/2t salt
8T (1stick) frozen butter
1/2c sour cream
1 egg

Directions:
Directions:
Preheat oven to 400º

Mix dry ingredients. Grate butter into mix then use fingers to work in butter, should resemble coarse meal.
Wisk together sour cream and egg and using a fork and hands, add to flour mixture.

Place on floured surface/parchment paper and pat into a 7-8 inch circle about 3/4 inch thick.

Cut into eight triangles, sprinkle top with sugar and bake until golden brown appx. 15 minutes.

for cranberry/orange scones add 1t orange zest and 1/2c dried cranberries

for lemon/blueberry scones add 1t lemon zest and 1/2c dried blueberries
