1 CUP OATMEAL
1 1/4 CUP BOILING WATER
1 STICK OLEO
1 CUP SUGAR
1 CUP BROWN SUGAR
2 EGGS
1 1/2 CUPS FLOUR
1 TSP BAKING SODA
1 TSP CINNAMON
1/2 CUP NUTS
1/2 CUP DATES

TOPPING:
1/2 CUP FINELY CHOPPED NUTS
1/2 CUP COCONUT
1 STICK OLEO
1/4 CUP EVAPORATED MILK
1 CUP BROWN SUGAR

Directions:
Directions:
POUR BOILING WATER OVER OATMEAL AND LET STAND FOR 20 MINUTES.

CREAM TOGETHER OLEO AND SUGARS, ADD EGGS AND BEAT WELL. ADD OATMEAL TO THE CREAMED MIXTURE AND THEN ADD DRY INGREDIENTS. MIX WELL AND STIR IN NUTS AND DATES. BAKE IN A 13BY 9 PAN AT 350º FOR ABOUT 35 MINUTES.
TOPPING:
SPRINKLE COCONUT AND NUTS ON TOP OF CAKE.
BRING LAST THREE INGREDIENTS TO A BOIL FOR 2 MINUTES. POUR OVER THE COCONUT AND NUTS AND PUT THE CAKE UNDER THE BROILER UNTIL BUBBLY AND BROWN.
