2 CUPS SUGAR
3 EGGS
3 CUPS FLOUR
1 TSP CINNAMON
1 TSP CLOVES
1 TSP NUTMEG
1/2 TSP SALT
1 1/2 TSP SODA
1 TSP VANILLA
3 CUPS CHOPPED APPLES
1 CUP CHOPPED NUTS

MIX OIL AND SUGAR WELL, THEN BEAT IN THE EGGS ONE AT A TIME. SIFT TOGETHER THE FLOUR, SPICES, AND SODA AND BLEND INTO THE FIRST MIXTURE. ADD VANILLA AND BEAT WELL. NEXT ADD THE APPLES AND NUTS. BAKE IN GREASED AND FLOURED TUBE PAN AT 350º FOR ONE HOUR AND FIVE OR 10 MINUTES UNTIL DONE.
