2 eggs
1/2 cup butter (softened)
1 tsp. Cream of Tartar
1 1/2 - 2 cups flour
1/2 tsp. Baking soda
1 cup sugar
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Directions:
Directions:
Cream butter and sugar. Add well-beaten egg yolks. Sift flour. Measure 1/2 cup flour and sift with cream of tartar and baking soda. Combine with egg mixture. Mix thoroughly. Add stiffly beaten egg whites and vanilla. Add sufficient flour to make a soft dough. Refrigerate. Turn dough onto lightly floured board. Roll into sheet. Cut with floured cutter. Place on slightly buttered baking sheet. Bake at 400 degrees about 10 minutes.
