Ingredients: 4 large eggs
1 1/2 c. sugar
1 T. vanilla extract
1 t. lemon extract
5 1/2 c. flour
1 t. baking powder
2 sticks margarine
3 T. crisco
1 egg beaten to brush cookies before baking

Directions: |
Directions:1. Beat 4 eggs with 1 1/2 c. sugar for 5 minutes
2. Add vanilla extract and lemon extract
3. Slowly add 5 1/2 c. flour and baking powder
4. When mixed add 2 sticks of margarine
5. Take out dough from bowl and knead 2 T. of crisco on crisco cooking board until not sticky (dough should be soft and not sticky)
6. Cover dough and let stand for 1 hour
7. Generously grease cookie pans with crisco
8. Take piece of dough, roll out in long pencil shaped rolls on crisco board
9. Cut in 7 inch lengths
10. Curl in twisted biscuit shape (any way you can)
11. Beat 1 egg and brush cookies with egg before baking
12. Bake in 350 oven for 25-30 min.

Notes: Many, many years ago a relative saw someone eating this cookie and he said,"They look like dog biscuits". The name "dog biscuit" stuck to this cookie.
