2 cups flour
1cup sugar
1 cup mayo
1 cup water
2 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
6 tbsp. Dark cocoa (NOT Nestle Quick)

Boiled Frosting

2 egg whites
1.5 cups sugar
6 tbsp. Water
Vanilla

Cake:

Mix all ingredients, sifting the dry ingredients. Bake at 350 degrees for about an hour.

Frosting:

Double boil all ingredients, mixing constantly.

My mother, Joy Grise, made this cake when I was young. It holds special memories for me. It is very moist and the frosting is light. Delicious!
