1 1/4 cup boiling water
1 cup quick-cooking oats
1 stick oleo (Not soft)
1 cup white sugar
1 cup brown sugar
2 unbeaten eggs
1 1/2 cup sifted flour
1 teaspoon soda
1 teaspoon salt
1 teaspoon vanilla

Topping:
2 Tablespoon oleo
1/4 cup evaporated milk
1/2 cup shredded coconut
1/2 cup chopped nuts
1/2 cup sugar

Cake:
Place water, oats and oleo in mixing bowl; cover and let stand 20 minutes. Add sugars, eggs, flour, soda, salt, and vanilla. Mix well!! Bake in 7 1/2 by 12 by 2 inch Pyrex 2 quart baking dish for 35 minutes at 350 degrees.

Topping:
Melt oleo; add milk and sugar and stir. Add coconut and nuts; mix. Pour on hot cake. Place under broiler until bubbly.
