Personal Notes:
"This salad is a favorite of Dennis. In fact, he had me make it and bring it to his wedding."

I got this recipe from Patti Reinheart when we lived on the forest Service Compound in Randall, WA. Her husbands name was Gordon and he and Daddy used to play guitar together. We spend many wonderful evenings at their house singing along with Mert and Gordon. They also had 2 little girls... I only remember the name of the youngest. Her name was Jackie and she had red hair. I remember how other mothers on the compound were very concerned about Mylinda's and Jackie's arrested development. Why? Well, because instead of playing girl games those two would pretend they were wild horses and you could always find them running with their long hair blowing int he wind... and you knew that in their minds they were wild fillies racing across the prairies with their manes streaming behind them. They only lived in Randall a short time and we sure missed them when they moved, but shortly after they left we met Bruhns and Nelsons and the void left by them was quickly filled.
