2 cups buttermilk (lukewarm)
1 Tbs yeast
1 Tbs sugar
1 egg, beaten
1 Tbs oil
3/4 tsp salt
1 1/2 tsp baking powder
1/4 tsp baking soda
1/8 cup warm water
4 cups flour

Directions:
Directions:
1. Soften yeast in warm water and sugar.

2. To warm buttermilk, add the eggs, oil, salt, baking powder, baking soda, and yeast mixture.

3. To the liquid, add 2 cups of the flour to make a sponge. Mix well. Then add the rest of the flour. Mix until just combined.

4. Let rise until doubled in size. At this point you can cover and put in refrigerator.

5. Pull off a handful of dough and roll it very thin on a floured counter. Cut into small, scone-sized squares. Fry in hot oil (375 F), flipping halfway through. When golden brown, remove from oil. Drain on paper towels and serve.

Note: Dough will stay good in refrigerator for months.
Note: Dough will be very soft.

Serving ideas: Pizza toppings, butter, honey, jam, etc.
